UPDATE 2/26/20: Damien has been found at Khazan’s Tower and has joined the resistance against Strahd. Markovia, Damien has gone missing along with Malachite and van Richten. UPDATE 10/4/19: After failing to distract the Abbot from the raid beneath the Abbey of St. Perhaps with the aide of these adventurers, he’d be able to discover where the Amber Temple was hidden and uncover its secrets, hopefully to end Strahd’s curse upon the land forever. However, in Lucian’s letter he made mention of a group of adventurers recently arrived in Vallaki brave enough to stand against Strahd. Andral that protected the city had been exhumed, and Strahd himself murdered Father Lucian as a warning to any who would stand against him. After days of traveling, Lucian returned to a Vallaki in turmoil. Damien scoured Barovia searching for the temple, but every time he thought he was close, it seemed to slip from his grasp.ĭamien hadn’t spoken to his father since leaving Vallaki, but several days ago he received a letter from Lucian, begging him to return home for fear of ominous happenings in Vallaki. Through his travels and research, Damien heard tell of a nexus of evil energy in Barovia known as the Amber Temple, which was rumored to be the birthplace of Strahd’s power. Angry and resentful of his father’s meekness, Lucian set out to find his own spiritual path.Īfter years of wandering the dark woods and dangerous mountains of Barovia, Damien grew in divine power and strengthened his resolve to rid Barovia of the evil plaguing it. Whereas Lucian believed staying in Vallaki and tending to the needs of the few people there was enough to spread good in the world, Damien took a more aggressive approach, wanting to set out from Vallaki on his own crusade to battle the monstrous forces of Strahd across the land. However, as he matured and grew into his own as a life cleric, Damien and Lucian had a falling out regarding the best way to serve the people of Barovia. Together they cared for the needs of the disparate citizens of Vallaki, ever watchful of darkness and danger encroaching upon their city.
